Malcolm Harpur has been working as a special educator since 1997. In this time he has held the role of assistant principal for a NSW government school where he was the supervisor of the support unit which educated children with special needs. It was in this setting that his particular interest for autism emerged. He then focused on learning more about autism and how it affects children and their families. During this time Malcolm decided to learn more about the Relationship Development Intervention® Program (RDI®). Seeing the great benefits of the RDI® Program, he subsequently became an RDI® Consultant.

Malcolm completed his Masters in Special Education in 2001 at Sydney University. Since 2007, Malcolm has been working with families facilitating the RDI® Program. Currently he works as a part of the Northern Suburbs Autism Centre which is located in Gordon. Malcolm is able to work with families both at the centre in Gordon or in families’ homes.

He provides services to families throughout the Sydney metropolitan area and the central coast.

Qualifications:

RDI® Program Certified Consultant and Special Educator
Bachelor of Education, Masters of Special Education (Sydney University)
12 years experience working with children with ASD and their families.
