Libby has worked with families for the past 30 years.  She left home in her mid-teens and put herself through her final years in high school and college living and working with families as a nanny and mother’s help.  Libby attained two undergraduate degrees at university with her studies focused on early childhood development, special education and psychology. After two years working in early childhood settings she retuned to college to complete a post graduate degree in special education.  During her teens, Libby worked with a child who had Down syndrome and later on helped her transition into the school environment. 

Libby’s first experience in working with a child with autism was during her college years.  Libby was intrigued in how the child could learn and master some things so well and yet seem oblivious to what was so easy for other children.  Libby began working as a swimming instructor during her post-graduate degree and here she met another child whose father was the president of the autism society in her state.  This was her introduction to the autism early intervention team and the beginning of what has now become 20 years apprenticeship in understanding child development and autism. 

For the past 16 years Libby has had her own private practice in offering families services in understanding and remediating autism and school support.  Libby discovered the Relationship Development Intervention® Program in 2003 and it revolutionised her thinking, she immediately committed to training and certification.  Libby was the first RDI® Program Certified Consultant outside North America.  She was so taken with the program that she mobilised people back in Australia to invite Dr. Gutstein and Dr. Sheely to run 2-day workshops and parent training in 2005.  Libby has enjoyed watching the RDI® Program grow and expand around the globe with now almost 20 consultants having trained or currently in training from Australia.  Libby has recertified each year in the RDI® Program and has been supervising trainees around the world in RDI® Program Certification since 2006.  Libby is thrilled that the Australian Government recognises the RDI® Program by assisting families with young children with funding.
