Elizabeth Ponce comes to Autism Connections from a Special Education background. Elizabeth has worked as a teacher, lecturer and also as a Tertiary Supervisor for teachers and special educators, specialising in ASD. Elizabeth has worked with children, teens and adults with ASD since 1998. Elizabeth's interest in Autism led her to complete her thesis on social interaction for children with Autism, leading her to the RDI® program. Elizabeth began the RDI® journey in 2006 and is currently awaiting her certification.

Currently, Elizabeth co-director of Family Connections Sydney, which is based in Bangor. Elizabeth works at the centre and also does home visits, when needed.
Elizabeth is providing services to families in the metropolitan Sydney and also in the ACT. 

Elizabeth offers a range of services, including:

  • RDI® program
  • Parent groups
  • Children's groups
  • Teacher training


Elizabeth is committed to providing a family-based program that is specific to each family and child. While RDI® is the main program used, Elizabeth has had significant training in many areas related to ASD: 

  • PECS: Picture Exchange Communication System
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder - Strategies for Schools and Classrooms.
  • Social Stories and Scripting
  • ABA and behavioural management
  • AAC
